In this webinar with the IAC held on 24 June 2020, we welcomed Philippa Charles, who hosted the panel, along with Duncan Matthews QC, Owen Lawrence, CEO of the IAC and Business Development Director, Taryn Auchecorne, representing Opus 2. The panel reflected on their experiences and lessons learned from recent virtual hearings.
The panel shared their own stories and reflections from their experiences with virtual hearings during lockdown and how they have evolved and improved since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. They also shared their best practice advice for conducting smooth running virtual proceedings, and key lessons that the panel had learnt along the way.
Using these lessons and best practice advice, the webinar's panel also explored how we can all prepare and plan for hearings impacted by other external factors such as emergencies and other socio-political events in the future to minimise the initial disruption that these event can cause.
Finally Owen and Taryn delved into how Opus 2 and the IAC work together to deliver seamless virtual hearings using the IAC's facilities and Opus 2's technology and services.
