Opus 2 is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the upcoming London International Disputes Week event, which will be held virtually from 10th – 14th May 2021. The core theme of the event this year is, ‘Looking forward: change, challenge and opportunity’, and will provide crucial insights into the business and law of international dispute resolution.
The conference will be comprised of 16 sessions over five days, delivered by a host of leading experts in their respective fields. There will also be five unmissable keynote sessions led by high-profile figures in dispute resolution.
Our very own Oliver McClintock, Chief Commercial Officer at Opus 2, will take part in what promises to be a fascinating panel discussion on Monday 10 May from 12:00 – 13:00 BST, entitled ‘London and the New, Decentralised Disputes Resolution Landscape’. The session will explore whether the venue of the court, tribunal, or seat matters and what London offers to the global disputes community in the new, decentralised landscape.
We will also be hosting a dedicated webinar in conjunction with LIDW'Has technology ‘disappeared into use’ within dispute resolution proceedings?''. Joined by a panel of experts from different areas of dispute resolution we will look at how technology has become ingrained in the way lawyers work, exploring what the technology landscape in dispute resolution proceedings will look like beyond eDiscovery, and tackling pertinent questions such as:
• How are legal teams rethinking the way they work and prepare for a case? • What challenges or opportunities is technology addressing in modern dispute hearings? • What are some of the considerations for different stakeholders when choosing a technology solution to power their dispute resolution proceedings?
Elsewhere amongst the rich and diverse range of topics being addressed will be sessions such as, ‘The rise and rise of state power in global disputes’, ‘Environmental, social and governance (ESG) and dispute resolution: poles apart?’, and ‘Breaking the mould – new approaches to evidence in the digital age’. It’s an event that should not be missed. Find out more about the schedule and sign up here.
