SAN FRANCISCO – Opus 2, a global leader in cloud-based solutions that enable law firms to build a connected digital practice, has announced the latest version of Opus 2 Case Management with even richer functionality, enhanced productivity capabilities, new dashboards, and introduces new branded collaboration portals for law firm clients and third parties.

Opus 2 Case Management version 8 enhances the industry-leading platform, which integrates evidence management and case analysis, and extends it by adding new client engagement capabilities. In today’s tight market for legal services, Connected Portals give firms a competitive advantage by allowing clients to track their matter, communicate about the case, and securely upload documents directly into the legal case management software.

“Forward-thinking law firms are breaking away from standard off-the-shelf software tools that limit their ability to differentiate their services because these tools simply cannot adapt to the variety of workflow needs within the firm,” says Don Fuchs, Senior Vice President, Business Development at Opus 2. “We have redefined what a modern case management system should look like by enhancing both how the case teams work internally as well as their ability to adapt their delivery of legal services in ways that create unique value for each of their clients.”

After giving early access to teams at BakerHostetler, Dorsey & Whitney, and Vorys, Opus 2 is pleased to bring the array of exciting new features and functionality to whole market. The new features, many based on user feedback, will further enhance law firms’ ability to manage documents, evidence, transcripts, chronologies, and witness lists to allow for in-depth analysis and to strategize with their clients to build the best case.

Some of the new features:

  1. Connected Portals: firm-branded sites that allow clients and third-parties secure, managed access to case materials and information.
  2. Advanced dashboards: new enhanced widgets that can be combined to provide customized insight and updates for different users.
  3. Advanced Worksheets: fully customizable worksheets allow users to manage and analyze evidence unique to their matter, practice area, or client need.
  4. Collections: organize files securely into virtual folders without disrupting shared file organization or creating copies.
  5. Organizations: new organizations worksheets to track entities in a case.

“Opus 2 Case Management Version 8 delivers on a shared vision we have developed with our clients; adding depth of functionality coupled with an enhanced user interface enables deeper client engagement and seamless collaboration,” says Liza Pestillos-Ocat, Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations at Opus 2. “We are bringing to market a solution that is feature-rich, highly customizable, and most importantly fit for modern litigation teams and how they interact with their clients.”
