IDRC and Opus 2 launch state-of-the-art flagship hearing room
The International Dispute Resolution Centre (IDRC) in London, the leading hearing venue for global disputes, and Opus 2, a global leader in legal technology solutions, have launched the IDRC Opus 2 Suite - a state-of-the-art flagship hearing room.
The suite provides its users with a modern, highly adaptable, technology-enhanced space that meets the needs of all arbitration practitioners. The venue combines modern facilities with the most advanced technologies to deliver a fully connected experience for all participants in a hearing. The flagship hearing room is designed to:
- Facilitate modern hearings: The room can be seamlessly adapted to in-person, hybrid, and virtual proceedings. Today’s dispute resolution practitioners require flexibility and collaboration between teams in multiple locations and time zones.
- Deliver a studio quality experience: Every participant, in-person and remote, receives broadcast-grade audio and video feeds via the high-quality AV equipment built into the room. All hardware and fittings have been expertly designed and installed in optimum positions to ensure a clear line of sight across the hearing room.
- Adapt to individual user needs: Each desk is customisable, allowing ‘plug and play’ for a lawyer’s own device. Users have unique needs and their desk in the hearing room is no different. Every participant can tailor their displays to organise the various feeds—live video, Realtime Transcription, and evidence presentation—and bundles in a layout to suit their individual preferences.
- Embed technology from the ground up: Opus 2’s proven award-winning technology is built into the design and construction of the new suite, providing a robust infrastructure. A dedicated onsite support engineer from Opus 2 will be on hand to provide expertise and ongoing assistance to ensure the smooth running of proceedings for all participants – in-person and remote.
Damian Hickman, the IDRC’s Chief Executive Officer said:
“Technology is integral to modern hearings. We are excited to continue leading the way in innovating and enhancing the hearing room experience with our partner Opus 2.”
Oliver McClintock, Chief Commercial Officer at Opus 2 said:
“We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing partnership with the IDRC to drive innovation and bring more value to the international dispute resolution community. Today’s lawyers rightly demand greater consistency and robust technology throughout the lifecycle of their cases, so they can continue to focus on the substantive issues of their case and deliver the best possible outcomes to their clients.”
The IDRC Opus 2 suite is now available for bookings on the IDRC’s website.
